Thank you for your interest in the volunteer program at The Manitoba Museum.
Volunteers provide valuable service to the Museum through direct assistance to staff or the delivery of school and public programs. The benefits for volunteers include acquiring new skills, putting learning into practice, experiencing an exciting work environment, and meeting new people. Besides, it’s fun!
Volunteers share their time, abilities, knowledge, and enthusiasm by working with or explaining the Museum's collections to the public. The work is greatly appreciated by the Museum and is both rewarding and fulfilling to the volunteer. Some of the tasks performed by the volunteers who work with the public include assisting in the Museum Shop, acting as Explainers, conducting guided tours of the Museum, and teaching groups of School children. Volunteers who work behind the scenes make use of their clerical, technical, or scientific skills.
As a Museum volunteer you will be expected to follow Museum procedures and the Volunteer Regulations and Procedures. Click here to read the Volunteer Regulations and Procedures and obtain an application. Please read this page carefully before applying to the program.
When you complete the application, please submit it via mail or fax. You will be called for an interview if the present needs of the Museum seem to match your stated abilities and available time. Your interest in serving the Museum is most welcome.
Sincerely,
Noreen Hees
Volunteer Resources Manager
