PARKING
While The Manitoba Museum does not have its own parking lot (we are tenants of the Manitoba Centennial Centre), there is plenty of parking nearby!

Your options are:

  • Parking meters on all the streets surrounding The Museum.  Please note that if you pay using your cell phone, you can renew your stay for as long as you wish without having to step outside.
  • A paved, outdoor parking lot on Rupert Avenue directly across the street from The Museum entrance
  • An outdoor, gravel lot on Pacific Avenue next to Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural Centre
  • A paved, outdoor parking lot on James Street behind The Manitoba Museum
  • The Civic Centre Parkade, a covered parking lot in the Public Safety Building, accessible from Pacific Avenue.

FOOD & DRINK
You can purchase snacks and drinks any time from vending machines located in the foyer and in the Planetarium/Science Gallery level coat room.   You are also welcome to bring your own lunch and snacks.  We simply ask that you do not bring products containing nuts as a courtesy to visitors with allergies.

Please note: for the protection of The Museum’s artifacts, food and drinks are not allowed in the Museum Galleries, Science Gallery, Planetarium Theatre or temporary exhibits.  Please enjoy your meals at the tables in the foyer, and in Festival Hall off the main foyer (subject to availability).

COAT RACKS & LOCKERS
There is a coat room on the Planetarium/Science Gallery level with both open racks and coin operated lockers. There is a 25 cent, non-refundable fee to use each locker.  You can purchase change for the lockers at either of our box offices.

WASHROOMS
On the main floor, public washrooms are located in the foyer and in the Museum Galleries at the entrance to the Nonsuch Gallery.  On the Planetarium/Science Gallery level, washrooms are in the coat room and inside the Science Gallery.

RAMP ACCESS
There is one wheelchair-accessible entrance on Rupert Avenue leading you to the foyer of The Museum.  An elevator can take you from the foyer down to the Planetarium/Science Gallery level and back up again.  The Museum Galleries, Science Gallery and Planetarium Theatre are all wheelchair accessible.  Only the upper levels in the Earth History Gallery and the Urban Gallery are unavailable to visitors with limited mobility.

WHEELCHAIRS & WALKERS
Wheelchairs and walkers are available for you to use free of charge while visiting The Manitoba Museum.  Please see Museum Security in the foyer for assistance.

STROLLERS
Strollers for your toddler(s) are available free of charge.  Please see Museum Security in the foyer, or the box office attendant on the Planetarium/Science Gallery level for assistance.

Baby changing tables are in both the men’s and women’s washrooms in the foyer, in the washrooms by the Nonsuch Gallery of the Museum Galleries and in the washrooms located in the coat room on the Planetarium/Science Gallery level.
