Guided Museum Highlight tours are available at 12:00 and 2:30 pm on all weekends and holidays. The tour takes about ninety minutes and emphasizes the highlights of our human and natural history collections.
Taking a tour is a great way to understand the connections between the human and natural history stories of Manitoba. You will also travel through time (ancient history of Manitoba to 1920′s Winnipeg), while moving from North to South within the province.
There are numerous open dioramas, most of which are stops on the tour: Bison Diorama, Caribou Migration, Boreal Forest Cree family, Rye Farm, Snake Pit, Bat Cave, etc.
There are experiential areas where you are surrounded by exhibitry and feel part of the past (Boreal Forest, Nonsuch Gallery, and Urban Gallery).
Highlight Tours can be customized. If a group is small, we query the guests for their areas of interest. If there is consensus, your guide can make the tour a little different to suit a particular interest.
