Hip bones of an ornithischian
These bird-hipped dinosaurs had pelvises that resembled those of birds. Ornithischian dinosaurs were all plant-eaters and included the stegosaurs, ankylosaurs, hadrosaurs, ceratopsids and pachycephalosaurs. Each had a toothless 'beak' at the front of the lower jaw that was used for gathering, plucking or cropping vegetation. Although their name implies a relationship, the ornithischians did not give rise to birds.
